FOODIE DAY

A FOODIE DAY BETWEEN MARKETS AND

LOCALS IN SANTIAGO

My Historic Food experience let you explore amazing tastes and sights of Santiago’s old culinary neighborhoods, markets, some old local restaurant and many off-the-beaten sightseeing. This culinary experience is a delicious and fun way to explore Santiago just like a local. We will visit La Vega Market that is the district famous among Chileans for its diverse local flavors. The area is a true melting pot, where you can find Chilean and more delicacies from various regions, ethnicities and imigrants spices. As we journey along our easy-to-walk route, you will meet and engage with restaurant owners, sample their generations-old artisanal recipes, and visit fascinating local attractions hidden away from major tourist path.
Then we will visit downtown and the famous restaurant Fuente Alemana with its amazing legacy of the best Lomitos. We drive by the main gastronomic neiboorhoods like : Bellavista, Lastarria, Italian , etc and then end up in Pueblito los Dominicos ,it holds the modern market was once part of a “fundo”, which gives the market its rural, rustic look. In the 80s, artists and artisans took over the farm’s old cellars and stables and built more small shops using traditional, colonial-style adobe

In Los Dominicos the near 200 stores can be found all kinds of traditional goods, including leather work, wood craft, sculptures, paintings, copper cookware, fine jewellery, pets, flowers, medicinal herbs, Chilean plants (as well as some foreign plants such as bonsais), and also some traditional foods such as typical Chilean empanadas and Pastel de choclo then we go back to your hotel.
